Monday Monday Monday.....it always feels so nice to start a new week but also so overwhelming looking at the week ahead. Today, I will take a breath, invite the new week, and welcome it with a smile. Hello Monday!
I live in NY and this is where I grew up. I have two sisters whom I love to pieces but miss everyday. One sister and her family lives in Buffalo, and my other sister and her family lives in North Carolina. Between us all we have 8 kids ranging from 9 months all the way up to 14 years old. Sad part is that we never see each other. We have been trying to make more of an effort to get together, but I have to admit, it can be difficult, time wise and financially. I am very lucky that my extended family all still lives here in NY so I have made it a point to try and make plans with my cousins as much as possible.
On Saturday I had a wonderful evening. My cousin works for a company called BeautiControl. This company is a skincare line that promotes providing your skin with at home spa treatments. It emphasizes that you don't need to go to a spa to receive the treatments. They promote their products, among other ways, with at home Spa Parties. What a GREAT idea! Now, I do have to confess that I was extremely disappointed in a handful of my friends who bailed on my spa party that I hosted this past Saturday. I planned it a month in advance, sent out evites, received RSVPs that had me expecting about 8 guests. I prepped for 8 guests, buying wine, fruit, teas, snacks etc, and had a whopping 2 friends show up. Booo to all of you who bailed on me. Ok, so aside from that tangent, my cousin Jennifer came to my house with basically a spa in a bag. She managed to give us, hand treatments, lip treatments, eye treatments, facial masks, foot treatments...it was amazing. I woke up with my face glowing but also had such a relaxing evening. I know it may seem weird that I am promoting a skin care product, but hey, I don't make EVERYTHING. Maybe, one day I will, but for now, I must share with you the amazing products that we got to try out. GO to their site and check out Lip Apeel. This product sloughs your lips and then gives you a moisturizer to put on after to keep your newly smoothed lips moist. Awesome! My other favorite was the warming Green Tea masque that we used. Oh boy did that feel great! I mean imagine this..sitting in your living room, with your feet wrapped in a foot softening treatment, your hands already smooth from the hand treatment we started the evening off with, a warm masque on your face, cucumber eye pads on your eyes, and a warm cloth being placed on your forehead, all while Jen reads a very soothing story to you. Girls...and guys....you need to try this out. Hosting one of these parties gives you discounts and a great hosting gift. My two girlfriends and I seriously had an amazingly chill evening. So cool!
Anyway, I know LiVee has everything you will need to take care of your body. But BeautiControl has so many things to pamper your skin. You should give it a whirl!
Thank you Jennifer for the introduction to these products and for showing me how easy home pampering can be.

today is the day!
i spent the afternoon today at work and was so excited because my boss had decided to showcase my products in a lit up display case. he is carrying my fall line still, as well as cupcake soaps, carnival goldfish, and heart and star gift packs. he is also going to have my cigar box shave kits for father's day. woohoo.
so here i am, all excited...guess what everyone at the salon is talking about though? the end of the world. bummer!
so now here i am going to talk about it. i get it. i get that everyone can have their own interpretation of the Bible. that is fine with me. i am a firm believer in "to each is own" but am so amazed by how this all caught on. a guy in staten island started a wild fire, huh? anyway, it does make you ponder though. what if? what if today was the last day you had? i know we all have goals in life. i know we all have things we want to do, but putting aside the small things, do you feel like you have lived a life that is fulfilling to you? i do. i don't think i always felt like that, but i definitely feel that way now. i have beautiful children who provide me with a happiness i can't even explain. they challenge me. they teach me. they ground me. i have a husband who i adore. he is honestly my best friend. he has helped me grow as a woman, he supports me, he encourages me, and he shows me how much he loves me everyday. that is a blessing, and i believe, a hard find. i worked in television, just like i set my head to do when i was 17. i was the lead singer of a great band for years and sang on great stages while people actually listened (haha). i am raising my 3 kids to the best of my ability and then some and i even work a little on the side to keep my creative mind stimulated. i look at my life and feel fulfilled. for sure.
when i wish you all peace and love, i mean that. my girlfriend olivia started me on that phrase and it didn't immediately register with me. when i actually thought about it, i realized that i most certainly can relay that kind of a message. i want all of the people in my life to have peace and love in their daily lives. my friends, my family, my clients, everyone. it is the best feeling to feel peace in your life. to take a breath without having a worry, is wonderful. love, well what can you say about love. when you have love, you you feel blessed. i hope that you all feel fulfilled and happy. hold those important to you, close to you. take a deep breath and enjoy every moment.
tonight, i wish all of you peace and love.

Getting Started
I am the kind of person who feels like I always have something to say. Sometimes, I am sure no one cares, but for the most part, I like to observe, learn, and experience things around me.
As I start this new blog for LiVee and for those of you who are interested, I hope to have some insight on health, wellness, skin care, and most of all peace in my and also your life.
I live in a house where my husband is allergic to everything!! I mean, when we first met, this guy gave me a grocery list of things that he could not eat, drink, put on his skin, and even breathe. At first, I figured oh well, sucks for him. But after more then 10 years of being in a relationship with him, I realized how it affected me as well. I had to watch what I cooked as well as what I ate (I actually have to brush my teeth after eating any kind of shellfish if I want a little smooch from him). I used to love lighting candles to leave a nice scent in the air. I recall one time buying a grass scented candle and he came home and started coughing sharing that he was allergic to grass so couldn't breathe in that kind of candle. Now, I am candle free, because so many scents trigger his asthma. UGH! What to do....I turned to things like Febreeze on the carpets and couches and that at least comforts me.
One issue we really had was skin care. He needed mild soaps and creams, had to stay away from certain dyes, etc because he also has eczema.
It was a great day, when he used some of my products and found that his skin was 100 times softer and no longer itchy because of the new, chemical free soaps and creams he was using.
As I continue my research in product bases, scents, and herbs, I have learned so much about my husband's ailments and am so happy to share them with you all. It is amazing to see how helpful LiVee has been for him and my family. I hope that you too will try and enjoy them. For now, take a moment and read a little about Eczema. Peace and Love my friends...
